About Woulfe Law

Providing Strength to Employees; Standing Up to Employers

A Firm dedicated to advocating with a passion for justice

With a commitment to restoring power and dignity to those who have had it taken from them

Woulfe Law places its mission at the center of all its decision-making. The mission is to empower the people who have been disenfranchised by employers who exploit their position of power.

We recognize that losing a job has so much more impact than simply losing income. The lost income can translate to losing a home, family, healthcare, and more. The emotional toll from losing a sense of security and from being treated unfairly can be devastating.

Being denied the ability to take breaks is not just about relief from work. It deprives people the opportunity to disconnect from work overtaking their lives. Working without compensation is impactful because of the financial components, but it can be about so much more than that. It is about employers forcing employes to endure the indignity of performing free labor in order to survive.

Employers forcing employees to work through workplace injuries causes physical harm, but it also can scar employees with the lifelong knowledge that the lingering harms are the result of their employers disregarding their humanity in favor of profits.

At Woulfe Law, we care about getting you monetary relief for what has happened to you, but we are passionate about a more holistic approach to bringing you justice. We understand that every person has their own needs and goals. A lawyer’s job is not to focus on their own desires and beliefs. It is to work toward what matters to our clients. To often, this aspect of the job is ignored or forgotten. It is central to everything we do.

Many employee rights attorneys can be singularly focused on the “big cases.” Even if they recognize the legal violation, they will deny representation if they do not have the opportunity for a sizeable payday from it. Woulfe Law has plenty of experience with the “big cases,” but we also want to give the opportunity for justice to the people with “small cases.” Our primary motivation is helping people who have been wronged- not the amount of money we can make from helping hurt people.

Ridgeway Woulfe

Founder

Ridgeway Woulfe entered law school with the simple goal of helping people. In law school, this brought him to work for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, The U.S. Department of Education- Office of Civil Rights, San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and Triage Cancer.

After graduating from a Top Five Legal Writing Program and Top 20 Trial Advocacy Program, Ridgeway worked to determine the best route to help as a full-fledged attorney. Initially, this led him to explore accessibility law, bankruptcy law, family law, education law, alcohol licensing, and zoning law. Ultimately, he found his true calling in advocating for employee rights.

Once he determined his route to make a difference, he began growing his knowledge base with the goal of taking his experiences to open his own firm. He has worked on class action and PAGA lawsuits. He also worked on many of individual cases, including representing private sector employees, government employees, tribal employees, and military personnel.

After gaining a diverse range of knowledge within the employment law field, he opened Woulfe Law with the purpose of bringing his values and unique approach to the forefront. In the years since, this approach has brought relief to countless employees seeking justice after their employer did them wrong. Yet, the passion driving Ridgeway has not dissipated and he is committed to using that passion to help employees for years to come.
